The BTEC Awards
The Air Cadet Organisation is highly committed to the personal development of both cadets and staff. As such, the Air Training Corps offers a number of exciting BTEC qualifications which cadets can use in later life.
These qualifications are FREE, and offered to all cadets within the ATC. Cadets have the opportunity to obtain BTECs in the following:

cadets to gain both the First Class Cadet and Leading Cadet Classifications.
BTEC Certificate in Aviation Studies
This BTEC Certificate is equivalent to two GCSE at A-C. This qualification recognises the training undertaken
for cadets to complete the First Class, Leading, Senior and Staff Cadet Part 1 Classifications.
All xcadets who have passed Staff Cadet Part 1 will be eligible for this certificate.
BTEC First Diploma in Public Services
This is a widely respected qualification equal to FOUR GCSEs at A to C level (4 Standard Grades

The course mixes theory and practical elements with an emphasis on leadership, teamwork, communications, problem solving and fitness. Cadets must be 16 to enrol in the BTEC Programme. In addition to existing cadet activities, cadets are required to complete the course syllabus which includes supervised adventure training activities and occasional weekend training.
The Cadet programme is currently the only national youth organisation offering young people the opportunity to achieve these valuable skills as well as the option to gain a diploma that is nationally recognised and respected to employers as well as institutes of higher education.
