To Nelson & Melissa

My dear Brother & Sister

I am in much trouble in money maters (sic) and am writing you a purely business leter (sic). I have got to have several hundred dollars in a few days or pay the conciquences (sic) of a bad mistake (sic). My property is nearly all gone & nothing to raise it on. send me 165.00 as I called it 3 or 4 years ago & I will call it square, but for mercy sake send it soon as I must raise it to save myself.

I will send you another leter (sic) in 2 weeks telling all the news.

P.S., [we ?] will asual (sic) I have been to Rochister (sic) hospital & operated on for [wee-s] of the stomach spent $1,000 & now am Doctoring & in a bad shape will tell you all later.

As regards Fathers last [property ?] he had nothing but $395.00 in his house & I had a [note ?] on it for 300.00 & int [interest ?] also paid his last funeral expense 297.00 all his Dr bill & everything else will send [itemized ?] statement. I owned the lots his house was on
