Academic Support |
The college offers three forms of academic support; the college library, collections and graduate advisors. Collections – At several times during the year you will be asked if you would like to make an appointment to see the principle. This is an opportunity to get off your chest any problems you might have been experiencing. Alternatively the tutor for graduates is always available if you have a problem which needs addressing more urgently. Graduate Advisors - College runs a graduate adviser program. Your Graduate Adviser will be in your own subject area or in one close to it and his/her job is to monitor your academic progress, discuss University reports with you and generally be available to be consulted on academic or other matters. Advisers may lunch their advisees on High Table, and there are many other opportunities to meet Fellows of the College at buffet suppers and drinks parties. If you have any problems getting hold of your graduate supervisor please contact the fellow for graduates . Library – St. Anne’s has on of the best stocked college libraries in oxford with some 110,000 volumes and 214 current periodicals. There are good collections in all subjects, and excellent collections in most. At graduate level, Education, English, Philosophy, and Politics are among the subjects especially well catered for. Should you need to get your hands on a book which the library does not have you can ask college to buy the book by emailing library [at] st-annes.ox.ac.uk. If you have an email of agreement from your supervisor then it is highly likely your book will be purchased.
