Gnoll Community FisheryThe Gnoll Community fishery was once an open air swimming pool and lately lay stagnant and lifeless. A joint Council, EA, and club venture saw funding acquired to improve the water. The dam had to be strengthened and sealed, an island created, the overflow controlled, and pegs built before any fish were introduced. The first stocking saw 27,000 fish, mainly roach, arrive from a netting that took place at Teglan fishery in Pembroke. These fish were soon being caught and packing on weight. A second recent stocking saw roach, rudd, tench, and crucian carp introduced to improve the biodiversity of the pond. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 1. Gnoll Pond before work started at end of 2007. 2.
